Meet Maidah: South Asian Trauma Processing Therapist in Toronto

Many people come to therapy feeling like they have been carrying too much for too long. On the outside they may appear capable and put together, but inside they feel anxious, exhausted, or weighed down by self-doubt, relationship struggles, or the lasting impact of difficult past experiences. Some find themselves repeating the same painful patterns in relationships, questioning their worth, or feeling caught between expectations from family, culture, or different parts of their identity. I work with individuals and couples who are navigating anxiety, emotional overwhelm, relational difficulties, and major life transitions. My goal is to offer a safe, non-judgmental space where you can slow down, make sense of your experiences, and feel truly heard and understood. Together, we explore how your past experiences and relationship patterns may be shaping how you see yourself and others today. As we build this understanding, we also focus on developing practical skills to manage overwhelming emotions, quiet the inner critic, set healthier boundaries, and communicate your needs with greater confidence.

As someone who understands the pressures of high expectations, cultural transitions, and relational wounds, I bring both professional training and genuine empathy to my work. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and have over eight years of experience supporting individuals through emotional and mental health challenges. My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to your unique needs. Clients often share that through our work together they begin to feel more grounded, more self-compassionate, and more connected to themselves and their relationships.
