WHEN GIVING MORE LEAVES LESS OF YOU

You may feel the effects before you recognize the cycle.

Burnout doesn’t always come with the realization that you’re burnt out. You may simply feel anxious, depleted, helpless, or disconnected from yourself, caught in patterns you don’t know how to change. Sometimes, all you know is that you can’t keep going like this.

You don’t need to know what to call it before reaching out. We can help you understand what you’ve been carrying, how the cycle took shape, and what may be keeping you stuck.

Burnout can take shape in more ways than one.

You’re the person everyone relies on, but you struggle to find that same support for yourself.

You work in an environment where urgency is constant and setting limits may have real consequences.

You grew up seeing your family work relentlessly to build a life, and slowing down can feel unfamiliar, weak, or unsafe.

You keep telling yourself you’ll recover after the next deadline, milestone, or crisis, but the rest period never comes or you keep ending up depleted.

You hold yourself to standards that keep moving, so even your best rarely or never feels like enough.

Some of these strategies likely have helped you to achieve safety, self-confidence, and/or success. They may also be costing you more than you realize or what you can afford to sustainably give. Together, we can honour what they’ve given you while making room for the rest of you: joy, connection, and choices that reflect what matters to you.

Understand your unique burnout experience.
Find a different way forward: honouring what works, changing what holds you back.

HOW BURNOUT THERAPY CAN HELP

Understand what’s happening

HISTORY TAKING

Whether burnout feels new or familiar, we’ll explore what’s driving it, what may be keeping the cycle going, and what is or isn’t within your control. We’ll also identify the patterns, past experiences, strengths, and resources shaping how you respond and recover.

Make room to recover

REGULATION & RESOURCING

Reconnect with your needs, emotions, and body’s signals. We’ll work with what is within your control, your environment, and the resources available to you, while making space to validate and process what isn’t- so recovery can take shape within your circumstances.

For work-related burnout, this may include supporting accommodation requests or letters when clinically appropriate, as well as exploring any changes within your role or workplace that feel possible and right for you.

Make recovery sustainable

SKILLS BUILDING & FUTURE PLANNING

Using what we’ve learned about the pressures and patterns that led to burnout, we’ll help you strengthen boundaries, make choices rooted in your values, and build the skills and support that protect your capacity better moving forward. This includes noticing rising stress sooner and responding with greater choice when pressure builds.

WHAT BURNOUT THERAPY CAN LOOK LIKE

A little more clarity before you begin.

We know that therapy can feel like a black box: you’re often asked to begin without knowing exactly what sessions will involve, how often you’ll meet, or how long you may need support. We want to make that process clearer.

The answers here are guideposts based on our team’s experience, not guarantees. We’ll shape and revisit your customized treatment plan with you as we learn more about your needs, circumstances, and response to therapy.

WHEN INSIGHT HASN’T BEEN ENOUGH

“I know my patterns. Why am I still stuck?”

You may know you need rest, yet feel guilty taking it. You may understand your boundaries, yet feel afraid of what will happen if you hold them.

If earlier experiences are still shaping those responses, you can choose to explore them more deeply. Where appropriate, trauma processing treatments such as EMDR may form part of your care.

Our team offers support with both sustainable burnout recovery and deeper processing. If your needs and priorities change to include trauma processing, we can help you connect with a therapist within the clinic whose approach fits that next part of your work.

You don’t have to process trauma to benefit from burnout therapy. That option is here if and when you choose it.

Care should be within reach.

Not everyone has extended health benefits or room in their budget for full-fee therapy. Our team is committed to making care more accessible through low-cost therapy and services covered in part by the Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP) for eligible refugees.

Let us know what you need and we’ll help you explore the appropriate options.

Finding support shouldn’t be another burden to carry.

You don’t have to sort through therapy approaches or know exactly what you’re experiencing. Tell us what life feels like right now and we’ll help you find a starting point.
