YOU DON’T NEED A DIAGNOSIS TO SEEK SUPPORT

You may know what you’re feeling before you know why.

You don’t need to have a diagnosis, a clear explanation, or the right language for what you’re experiencing. You may simply recognize that something feels different, difficult, or no longer sustainable.

You feel anxious, low, irritable, overwhelmed, or emotionally numb.

Perfectionism or heavy self-criticism makes it difficult to feel satisfied, even when you’re doing well.

The same fears, conflicts, or patterns keep appearing in your relationships.

Grief, loss, or a major life transition has changed how you experience yourself or your life.

Cultural expectations, migration, discrimination, or questions of belonging are affecting your well-being.

Whatever is bringing you here, change can begin with understanding what you’re carrying and finding support shaped around what you need. Individual therapy can give you a place to make sense of your experience, strengthen the parts of your life that need support, and begin finding a way forward.

Support for what you’re experiencing

Individual therapy can support concerns that are affecting how you feel, relate to others, or move through everyday life. Some may be connected to persistent stress or past experiences, while others deserve care in their own right. You and your therapist can decide together what feels most important to begin with.

What individual therapy can look like

HOW WE CAN HELP

Therapy will be shaped around your goals, circumstances, and pace. Although the process is different for everyone, your work with your therapist may include the following:

Understand what’s happening

Your therapist will begin by learning what life feels like right now, what has been difficult, and what you hope will change. Together, you can explore the circumstances, experiences, strengths, and patterns that may be influencing how you feel and respond.

Build capacity & gain skills

You may work on recognizing your emotions and needs, responding to stress, setting boundaries, communicating more clearly, or developing ways to feel more grounded. The focus will depend on what would make the greatest difference in your everyday life.

Explore what keeps returning

As you gain clarity and build capacity, you may choose to look more closely at recurring beliefs, relationship patterns, protective responses, or past experiences. Therapy can help you approach these patterns with greater curiosity and respond with more choice.

Carry change into your life

Together, you’ll notice what is shifting and practice bringing those changes into your relationships, decisions, and daily routines. The goal is to help you feel more connected to yourself and better able to build a life that reflects your needs and values.

These parts of therapy can overlap, and you don’t have to move through them in a particular order. Your therapist will regularly check in with you to monitor progress and adapt the work as your needs and priorities change.

Find a therapist who feels right for you

We know from both research and experience that the relationship you build with your therapist will be an important part of your therapy experience and progress.
