Frequently Asked Questions

  • Although OHIP does not cover services by Registered Psychotherapists or Registered Social Workers in private practice, you will likely have coverage for counselling or therapy services if you have insurance benefits through your employer.

Although our therapists are registered providers with several insurance companies, your coverage may differ depending on your plan. We strongly recommend checking with your insurance provider to ensure they will cover services delivered by a Registered Psychotherapist and/or Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying).

  • While we appreciate that life can be unpredictable, late cancellations create a hole in the schedule that cannot be filled last minute. Please note that a cancellation fee applies for late cancellations and “no show” appointments.

Late cancellations within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment will incur half of the regular session fee.

No shows, or cancellations with less than 2 hours notice, will incur the full session fee.

  • That’s ok! You don’t have to know the specific type of psychotherapy that you’re looking for. This is something that we can work together to determine, based on factors like your goals for therapy, preferred working style, comfort level, current level of stress, and more.

If you’d like to discuss what treatments might be suitable for you, please book a free 15-minute consultation.

  • The ideal frequency of sessions differs depending on each person’s unique needs and is something that we would discuss during the initial consultation. Because therapeutic gains are built on consistency, we recommend starting at a weekly or bi-weekly basis at the beginning and adjust as we go.

  • Finding the right therapist for you is an important step in your journey. There are a couple of factors to consider and too many to put on a FAQs page, so we’ve written a brief article about this. Read more here.

The best way to gauge whether a therapist is a good fit for you is to meet them. This is why all of our therapists offer a free 15-minute initial consultation.
