A Journey Inward Therapy is a Toronto-based psychotherapy practice that provides a safe space for clients, often those who have experienced marginalization, in which to heal, grow, and thrive. Throughout the healing journey, marginalized clients are often met with microaggressions in therapy in the form of advice that disregard cultural norms or inadvertently pathologizing comments from well-meaning and well-intended practitioners. These experiences make it more challenging for marginalized clients to find a suitable therapist for themselves.

Along with building a safe space for our clients, A Journey Inward Therapy is also building an inviting community for therapists, especially those who have first-hand experience of marginalization, to feel welcomed and supported, where we can learn and grow together.

I invite clinical supervisors who practice from a culturally-responsive, trauma-informed, and LGBTQ-affirming lens, have knowledge of systemic influences on mental health, exude warmth and nonjudgement, and are passionate about supporting other professionals in achieving their unique and full potential to join our team in building this safe and nourishing space together. Those who practice modalities including attachment-based approaches, CBT, ACT, Emotionally Focused Therapy, mindfulness, IFS/parts work, and EMDR are preferred.

Job Description: Clinical Supervisor- virtual

I am currently searching for a Clinical Supervisor who meets the CRPO’s supervisor requirements, holds liability insurance, and is able to provide virtual independent, dyadic and group clinical supervision sessions, as well as virtual psychotherapy sessions for clients. As an Independent Contractor, your responsibilities will include:

• Providing weekly site supervision to students during their practicums

• Providing clinical supervision to RPs and RP (Qualifying)s in support of their licensing requirements

• Treating therapists and clients ethically and compassionately

• Managing your own schedule and ensuring your available shifts are updated in the Jane App

• Being open to collaborating with us to create niche-based supervision groups and help with marketing your services

• Proactively sharing your thoughts, especially questions and concerns

• Setting your own hourly rates

As an Independent Contractor, you would receive:

• 70% of session revenue

• Free marketing for your services through A Journey Inward Therapy

• Free use of Jane App for A Journey Inward Therapy clients- this includes electronic record keeping, secure video calling, and session bookings

• Administrative support

• Peer consultation and access to a community of like-minded psychotherapists
